Smart cities connected Infrastructures means  optimal use of  ground space for most efficient use.
This means a balanced use of ground space between infrastructures for offices, residents,
industries, shopping complexes, parkings, roads, transportation, streets, parks, entertainment
areas, education & health
care institutions.

Smart City designing is focused on creating city infrastructures that should be within walking or public
transport reach within 30 minutes maximum. The streets are designed to make walking easy and some
streets between building are either underground or are covered and interconnect multiple buildings.

Smart Buildings use ground space optimally by expanding vertically into 20-50 storey infrastructures to
save space for parks, gardens and other entertainment facilities.  Some features of smart building
include:
  1. Underground multilevel parking for residents and shoppers.
  2. Residential and Business floors are secured. Building facilities are centrally controlled  &
    monitored round the clock. It has been found that utilities  utilization is minimal in multilevel
    building.
  3. Multiuser high rise buildings use first 3-4 floors for shopping,  healthcare and education
    facilities. The upper floors can be used for residential, hotels and offices.

Smart cities transportation use underground and overground space for mass transportation using  
trains, monorails and buses.  Entire network is monitored, just including train and buses are to ensure
passenger safety. The moving assets are also managed and monitored for scheduled movement using
mobile and static ICT networks.
